Welcome to the Office of the Inspector General website. The OIG is part of the Board of Police Commissioners, the civilian head of the Los Angeles Police Department. The OIG assists the Police Commission in providing independent civilian oversight of the LAPD. The OIG is available to assist members of the public and Department employees in filing complaints of misconduct involving members of the LAPD. This website also contains forms for commendations of LAPD officers and employees. It also contains useful information about how to contact us, the history of the OIG, the staff of the OIG, a listing of various OIG reports that can be downloaded,* a description of the Rampart Independent Review Panel, links to other sites, and more.
